Why is my baby crying you ask? He is crying because HE IS A BABY.
The question I hate more than any is “why is your baby crying?” I do not know why people can’t figure out that babies just cry. It is like asking why a bird flies or why a homeless person argues with a mailbox. It is just what they do. When our baby nurse was here she would always ask us why our baby cried anytime we were in the other room with him and he started crying. I know she was not suggesting that we were doing something wrong but it always felt like she was asking us how we screwed up and made our baby son cry. When people are over and our baby cries people will ask why he is crying as if I speak baby and can translate. Oh, you want to know why he is crying? Well our baby is upset that President Obama has not outlined a comprehensive exit strategy from the war in Afghanistan. 99 out of 100 times he is upset for one of the following reasons: he is hungry, tired, gassy or he needs changing. One of these reasons will always be the answer. All we ever do it try the solve the mystery of his crying through the process of elimination. “Has he is eaten recently?” If the answer is “no” then we feed him. If “yes” then we move on to the next possibility, “has he been changed recently?” We really do not have any better an idea of why he is crying than you do.
