Just an update to our son wearing socks on his hands

August 3, 2011

I wrote a previous post about how our baby son wears socks on his hands to prevent him from scratching himself. We use socks because the gloves keep falling off. The problem is he keeps somehow grabbing string off of the cotton socks. He will clench this string tightly in his hand and continually try to get the string to his mouth. Since he doesn’t know how to even use his hands properly yet I am not sure how he figures out how to do this. My wife and I will then stand over him struggling to get the string out of his hands. It is a delicate balance because we are obviously stronger than him but he is pretty strong for his size. And, we have to figure out how to get his hand open to get the string without hurting him. It can actually be surprisingly difficult.
