Apparently I am clueless when it comes to getting our baby to sleep at night

October 4, 2011

Yesterday, I wrote about my wife’s idea to change our baby’s sleeping schedule and how it ended in what I called “spectacular failure”. Even though our baby tortured us as a result of my wife’s plan I sort of enjoyed being right. I got a little cocky and started thinking that I knew how to get our baby to have a nice long sleep at night (I started thinking that I was in fact the Baby Whisperer). So, last night we went back to my plan and last night my baby proved that I have no idea what I am talking about. I might as well be throwing out astrophysics theories because I know as much about astrophysics as I know about getting our baby to sleep at night. My big sleeping plan was deemed a failure by my baby when he woke up only an hour after being put down for the night. I guess it serves me right for getting cocky. Sorry wifey, I don’t think either of us know what we are doing.

have you tried putting him to bed earlier? i know that sounds crazy and counterproductive but sometimes it works. couldn’t hurt to try if you haven’t already. also just remember that it’s not weird that he’s not sleeping predictively yet. the saying “i slept like a baby” is massively misleading as to the quality of one’s sleep.
