His shirt may show a preference for Mommy but his words speak louder than a shirt

Baby Zachary: Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da

Me: Holy crap he is saying Dada…Dada is his first word!!!!

Wifey: I don’t know that he is saying Dada, that is more Da Da Da. I think he is just starting to babble.

Me: Why do you have to ruin this for me?

Wifey: I am just pointing out a fact.

Me: To be fair he is now saying Dada to his toy train. I guess it would be nice if he were saying it in reference to me.

Zachary started babbling this past Friday saying something very close to Dada. He just keeps repeating it without reference to anyone or object in particular. He has been saying it when very happy and when very upset (like when we strapped him into his stroller). Also, it turns out that Zachary was not saying Dada because he favors me but because it is just easier for babies to say the “D” sound than it is for them to say the “M” sound.
