Or else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April 24, 2012

BABY ZACHARY: Mmmmmmmmm (on the floor, leaning with hands in the air towards his Mommy)

WIFEY: I bet someone wants to be picked up.

BABY ZACHARY: (upon being picked up Zachary immediately starts pulling Wifey’s hair).

WIFEY: OUCH!!! That hurts Zachary! STOP PULLING MY HAIR OR ELSE!!!

ME: Or else what?

WIFEY: I don’t know.

The problem is there are no consequences for Zachary. When he does something that we do not want him to do we tell him “no” in a stern voice. But, there is no real way to punish a 9 month old. What are we going to do, ground him? Take away his tv watching or phone privileges? We could have him sit in a corner for a “time out” but he would have no idea what was going on and would probably start screaming which would be more of a punishment for us. We could punish him by doing things he hated like wiping his nose or feeding him cottage cheese. I am guessing that nothing we do outside of saying “no” with a stern voice is going to have any effect for now.

Haha yeah, there’s not much you can do about a nine month old! I think Ellie was about 14 months old when we started some other things – light slaps on the hand when she was about to do something dangerous, put into her bedroom for certain other things… but it depends on the kid and what he understands and when.
