The first haircut is the deepest
I think Zachary was pretty scared for his haircut because the last time we told him he was going for a trim was his Bris. And, we were kind of scared because Zachary is not one to sit still very long. Thank you Cozy Cuts and Elmo for making Zachary’s haircut go so smoothly. When we got to the haircut place we saw some kids behaving well while getting their haircut and there was one kid losing his mind which was more of what I expected from Zachary. When we sat Zachary down in his haircut seat/cool car he started crying. They then put an Elmo video on for him and he just stared at it the whole time like he had just been shot with a tranquilizer gun. The baby barber/stylist asked us Zachary watches Elmo often and we responded that this was the first time he had never seen Elmo, an Elmo video or even a cartoon before in his life. That stuff is certainly baby crack.
Other highlights include:
- The baby barber/stylist was baffled by Zachary’s hair and could not figure out if the darker or lighter hair was newer. We told her we did not want her to tell us Zachary’s true hair color as we wanted to be surprised.
- Wifey had previously played baby barber in an effort to keep Zachary’s hair out of his eyes. The baby barber/stylist immediately noticed Wifey’s handiwork. She was nice enough not to comment on the unevenness of Wifey’s work.
- They gave us a Certificate of Achievement for Zachary completing his first haircut which included a lock of his hair. This certificate, no matter how cheesy, is now proudly displayed on our refrigerator.
