Today is My Wife’s Due Date!!! I guess no one told my baby.

Back in October I entered the following entry in my phone’s calendar “June 21, 2011: Tuk-Tuk Day!”.  I cannot believe today is June 21, 2011. For a long time this day seemed like it would never get here. Now,  the due date is here and I am at work.  I am living a continually surreal experience as our baby has chosen to hang out longer in my wife’s belly.  My wife is ready for him to come out. She no longer can walk, instead she waddles like a penguin. She is quite uncomfortable.  According to my weekly BabyCenter e-mails, he is now the size of a small pumpkin. Her doctor said there is maybe an inch of free space in her belly as the baby is taking up almost every last square inch.  You would think he would take the hint that he has outgrown the place.  I guess with Manhattan real estate prices he still thinks he has a good deal in there. 

Speaking of BabyCenter, I have signed up for their weekly e-mails and every week they send you a new e-mail comparing the size of baby to some fruit or vegetable. Here is a shortened list, I just always found the comparisons interesting:

• Week 5 – sesame seed
• Week 10 – kumquat
• Week 15 – apple
• Week 20 – banana
